Chrysler Recalls by Model: Reliability and Common Problems

Every Chrysler model in NHTSA's owner complaint file, 2010 to 2025: the recall campaigns for each model, which models and years owners complain about most, and the problems they report.

NHTSA owner complaintsChecked Oct 2, 202615,637 complaints11 models

Short answer

The Town & Country drew the most owner complaints of any Chrysler in NHTSA's file for 2010 to 2025, then the Chrysler 200 and the Pacifica. The Pacifica and the Chrysler 300 have the most recall campaigns, 38 and 24.

Best-sellers draw the most reports, so a high count is not a failure rate. Check one car with its VIN.

What we know beyond the file

On the 2015 Chrysler 200, recall 15V-470 covers a power distribution connector that can cut power and stall the engine, and recall 14V-480 a door wiring harness that can overheat. On the 2010 Town & Country, recalls 14V-373 and 11V-139 cover an ignition key that can slip out of the run position and switch the engine off while driving.

The 2017 Pacifica with the 3.6L engine is under recall 18V-049, for engine software that can fall out of sync with the crankshaft sensor and stall the engine.

Chrysler recalls by model

Recall campaigns NHTSA lists for each Chrysler model, model years 2010 to 2025, read Oct 2, 2026. Each campaign counts once per model, however many years it covers. NHTSA's recall service returned no answer for Chrysler 200 2010, so those years are not counted. Recall repairs are free at the dealer; check one car with its VIN.

Chrysler complaints by model

Owner complaints to NHTSA for each Chrysler model with at least 1,000 of them, model years 2010 to 2025, and the year that drew the most. A best-seller draws more reports than a rare model, so read these as counts, not failure rates. 7 smaller models are left out.

Common questions

Are Chryslers reliable?

The complaint file can't grade a brand, because it counts reports, not failures per car sold. What it shows is where Chrysler owners report trouble: the electrical system most, then the engine, and the Town & Country, Chrysler 200 and Pacifica draw the most complaints.

Which Chryslers should you stay away from?

No model is bad in every year. The model years with the most owner complaints are 2015 Chrysler 200, 2010 Town & Country, 2017 Pacifica and 2018 Pacifica; inspect those hardest and check their recalls before you buy.

Which Chrysler has the most recalls?

The Pacifica, with 38 recall campaigns across model years 2010 to 2025, then the Chrysler 300 with 24.

What is the most common problem with Chryslers?

Owners name the electrical system most, in 5,889 complaints, 38% of the Chrysler record, then the engine, in 3,821.

How do I check if my Chrysler has a recall?

Enter the 17-character VIN in our free recall checker or on NHTSA's recall page. It lists open recalls for that one car, and the dealer does the repair for free.
