31 mention an injury, 2 a fire
The automatic emergency braking leads the 2019 Honda CR-V record at 24%, with steering close behind. Of the automatic emergency braking reports that give a mileage, half came before 22,500 miles. The costliest part on our cost list is the fuel pump, $230 to $428 for the part alone.
It's a count of reports, not a failure rate. Use it to decide what to inspect before buying, not to grade the car.
Complaints about automatic emergency braking lead this year, about a quarter of the record, and about half mention a warning light.

I have asked questions everytime I have it in but Honda does not seem to have an answer. 1. When in cruise the car will randomly brake when nothing is in sight 2. My blind spot monitors seem only intermittently notice anyone on my passanger side of vihicle
We have had the car a year and 4 months and we bought it new. Twice the infotainment system has as gone haywire as we were driving. It began to flicker and the brightness control kept flashing and making beeping noises. Also 4 times the automatic braking system has tried to stop the car for no reason.

2019 Honda CR-V. Consumer writes in regard to collision mitigation braking system malfunction.
Automatic emergency braking will randomly flash brake and start to break, yet there is nothing under or near the car. Unable to reproduce the problem, but it's happened 4-5 times in two years. The brake warning started showing within a few weeks of driving.
7-12-22 I was driving on I-70 east in maryland--3 lanes. Car ahead of me was at least 6 lengths ahead. My brake light flashed on my dashboard, and then the brakes were applied by the system. I was thrown forward in my seat and a car almost hit me from behind. I called dealership and they will look at system next week.
I was driving on the freeway at 60 mph. Traffic was flowing. Suddenly, with nothing in front of me, the car applies the break and I came down immediately to 30 mph. It was terrifying and luckily no one slammed into me.
When it starts
Usually starts around 22,500 miles. Half of owners reported it between 14,110 and 37,500.

What owners describe
Honda has failed to replace the cable reel and cable reel sub-harness and install a protective cover on the steering wheel core for free. This is a safety recall and the dealer was contacted july 23, 2019.
I received a recall notice july 2019 for a damaged cable reel-sub-harness/short circuit and every dealership within 40 minutes of where I live does not have the parts to fix his defect even 60 days after I received this letter. I drive often for work and want to make sure Honda is taking care of this asap.

Got a notice in the mail early august 2019 for a recall (NHTSA recall number 19v-383). Contacted the dealer I got the car from right away. Said they had no parts to repair it and would call back when they do. I followed up a few weeks later, and said the same thing. Two months now and I've gotten no notice of parts going to the dealer to fix the recall.
My steering wheel sticks when driving on the highway and turning on and off the ramp. It also sticks when driving on main roads. Car only has roughly 45,000 miles.
Steering is "sticking" when driving above 35 mph which requires some effort to overcome and when it "unsticks" results in over correction. Also makes an audible noise when "unsticks" first noticed a year ago. It subsided but now has returned and is worse than before.
Steering has become intermittently "sticky" in the last year. The vehicle has 12,000 miles on it. The dealer says the eps steering rack is the cause and needs replacing at owner's cost.
When it starts
Usually starts around 25,500 miles. Half of owners reported it between 2,600 and 54,527.
What to do
Run the VIN for the steering cable reel recall.

Car 2 months old, have only put 1300 miles on it, let it sit for 5 days, and battery totally dead! Nothing was left on, had to jump car and alarm came on along with all sorts of warnings, called dealer who talked me through resetting radio, ect, and informed there is a recall, made appointment, I can't find any active recall. Also radar brake warning systems fail repeatedly in rain and snow.
If the car sits for 2-3 days without running the battery drains and dies completely. We have been told that it is related to an evac test that is performed 5 hours after the car is shut off. Apparently Honda is aware and is working on a software upgrade.

I have 260 miles and my car started to flash like christmas tree all the dash-board warning lights and engine was shaking. Lost traction and it's a awd and it was turning off every block. I was driving in the street. It was also smelling so bad worse then burning.
Battery dies overnight. Car has only 1000 miles and I've had to jump it 3 times plan to call dealer for warranty work, but I see from other postings that this is an unresolved issue for Honda. Calling them anyway. A new car should not behave this way.
I am having the same problem the Honda pilot is having, my infotainment/radio has not worked since I bought the car on march 1st. It does not connect to apple car play and the screen suddenly just goes black. It plays pandora sporadically but never works consistently.
Driver and passenger door freezes and although the doors appear to unlock when parked the doors will not open. Evan after 30 minutes of travel time when car has more than ample time to warm itself. Also door locks me out even with the fob on my person. The car is stationary in both situations.
When it starts
Usually starts around 7,000 miles. Half of owners reported it between 1,400 and 20,256.
What to do
Ask whether the battery was replaced and test the start.

2019 Honda crv. I have noticed that my oil has an amount of gas over 5% twice by analysis. I am worried about the problem of oil dilution that Honda crv's (model year 2017 & 2018) have had. I fear that I will have premature engine damage and more important loss of power or stalling on the highway as the 1.5 liter direct injection Honda crv engines have experienced.
Developed oil dilution problem, to the point where it damaged my spark plugs and the engine had trouble running, had to be towed to dealership. Cause smoking under the hood and shakiness in the middle of driving, wheel locked up and I couldn't steer, all warning lights came on the dash together, not safe at all.
When it starts
Not enough mileage reports.
What to do
Smell inside and around the front after a drive.

2019 Honda crv ex. Engine oil getting into the oil. Oil dipstick way above the allowed maximum mark. Just bought it in september 2019 and has only 4,600 miles. Oil gauge shows 40% left before next change. Dealer told me not to bring it until it gets to 15% and that there is no danger driving it.
Extensive white smoke out of exhaust pipe when stopped at city traffic light. Burnt oil smell. Could not accelerate above 23 miles per hour in traffic. Every system failure message displayed. Purchase crv new from Honda dealer in march, 2018. Has 2,634 miles on it. Had been start/stop driving for about 2 hours in local city traffic running errands.
When it starts
Usually starts around 5,925 miles. Half of owners reported it between 2,000 and 13,897.
What to do

Federal investigations
Before you buy a used 2019 Honda CR-V
These checks follow what 2019 CR-V owners reported most: driver-assist warnings and braking faults, then battery drain and gas smell. Ask for the service history by VIN, because it shows software updates and whether the recall repairs were done.

Gas smell and oil that smells of gas show up in the fuel and engine complaints.
- 4Run the VIN for the steering and fuel pump recalls
Many complaints are about these recall repairs.
- 5Run the VIN for open recalls
Only the VIN says if this car got the recall repairs.
