The engine leads the 2017 Honda CR-V record at 30%, with electrical system next at 22%. Of the engine reports that give a mileage, half came before 15,000 miles. The costliest part on our cost list is the battery, $111 to $290 for the part alone.
It's a count of reports, not a failure rate. Use it to decide what to inspect before buying, not to grade the car.
Engine complaints lead, with warning lights, a fuel smell and stalling, and electrical complaints follow, many of them a drained battery. Honda recalled certain 2017 CR-Vs for a fuel supply pipe that may disconnect and leak while driving.

Honda has over 19,000 miles and read about gas in oil. As a former mech. I checked dipstick and yep, can smell gasoline in oil. Checked another suv I have to be sure not crazy and gas is present.
Our 2017 Honda crv keeps showing over full even though no oil was added and has a very strong fuel smell to it. I feel fuel mixing in the oil could be a very unsafe condition. The engine could also suffer major damage because of this.

In mid-october 2018, the oil level on our 2017 CR-V was a half inch past the max mark on the dipstick. Oil was last changed just 3400 miles ago in mid-may. I suspect this is due to the widely reported problem of fuel diluting the oil. The Honda dealer where the vehicle was purchased refuses to admit that this is a problem.
I found a gas smell in the oil for my 2017 Honda cr v. The dealer said nothing about the issue on my last oil change. I took the car to damson Honda on 10/182018. They verified that gas was in the oil with an .19 mm additional volume. This is unacceptable and dangerous
Gasoline is getting into the oil, raising the oil level and causing the oil to smell of gasoline and lose its effectiveness. I am concerned about the gas getting where it doesn't belong and causing a safety issue. This is after 5 days of use after I purchased the vehicle and the oil was changed by the dealer before I bought it.
Engine oil being diluted by gasoline contamination, overfilling the crankcase. Liquid level is above the maximum level permitted on the dipstick. Known problem with 2017-2018 Honda cr-vs. Safety issue because it can cause stalling while driving, though I have not experienced that yet. Vehicle was stationary when discovered.
When it starts
Usually starts around 14,950 miles. Half of owners reported it between 7,656 and 27,806.
What to do
Check the oil level and smell the dipstick for fuel, and watch for warning lights.

I drove down the highway 65 miles per hour when suddenly the car computer got stuck and then started again giving different errors. Deactivated brake system, frame missing gasoline, frame road stabilization system deactivated and finally speed control frame speed a fault.
I understand that Honda manufactured all its cars with soy based insulation on wiring which can attract rats to chew. Obviously, this is a problem. When I called my dealership they wanted about $500 to fix it. I shouldn't have to pay for this problem

Car purchased july 1, 2017. Jan 6, 2018 battery died after sitting for roughly 2 days. Honda checked battery and found no problems with battery or electrical system. Friday, feb 16, 2018 same problem: dead battery. Car was sitting for 3 days prior to discovery. There are no supplemental electrical accessories.
"takata recall" 2017 Honda crv was rear ended by another vehicle on 4/11/18. The seat belts did not retract. The passenger in the car struck her head on the dashboard of the vehicle. This crv has been in the repair shop since 4/17/18. Informed by the service provider that none of the seat belts retract properly.
After jumping the battery - when starting the vehicle with foot on the brake, pedal jerks momentarily before starting the engine. The vehicle was in the garage with dead battery after 2 days of not being used.

Upon starting my 2017 Honda crv which has the 1.5l turbocharged engine, I smell an odor of gasoline. The gasoline odor is also perceived driving or stopped at a stop light.

Fuel smell in cabin and outside of vehicle. Found oil level high with Honda service doing all maintenance. Highly doubt updated software will prevent this from happening. Vehicle currently has 61,000 miles. Been doing this since purchase.
Engine oil level on dipstick way above what it should be and there is a strong gasoline smell in the engine oil. The Honda maintenance minder says 70% engine oil life is left. Also the seat heaters don't seem to work. Based on what I read online this seems to be somehow linked with the engine oil dilution issue
When turning on car, I intermittently smell strong odor of fuel inside the car. I brought car to Honda dealer (car is less than 6 months old) and dealer stated "they didn't smell or see anything" and they did not take issue seriously and did not run any tests. I do not use "cheap gas" as dealer had suggested, and car was never in a garage any time when strong odor was present.
Gas smell in cabin of car on and off for 3 months. Took car to dealer for check. Service reported gas in oil. Honda aware of problem . Oil change done as per Honda recommendation. No solution to gas contaminating oil is currently available. Gas smell was present sometimes while running other times present on entering parked car.

My Honda CR-V threw up warnings about road departure mitigation problem, collision mitigation problem, electric brake problem, tpms etc. And my vehicle automatically slowed down in traffic. Since then it has been happening more frequently and now it almost always there. Vehicle has slowed down in traffic thrice since the problem first started in october 2020.
I was driving down a city street soon after a stop sign so maybe going less than 10-15 mph. All of a sudden with nothing in front of the car the automatic braking system slammed the car to a complete stop. Luckily there was no one behind me or there may have been an accident.

The safety feature reacts to shadows on the road. This has happened 3-4 times where if I'm driving under a bridge the car will beep and show a message asking me to hit the brakes. I think the car sees the shadow of the bridge on the road in front of me as an object and is asking me to stop/ hit the brakes. If the car ever applies automatic braking, then the car behind me can slam into me causing an accident.
Honda sensing turns off every time there is moderate rain or snow. The radar is not blocked nor is any windshield sensor. These sensors become unavailable when they are needed the most. This has happened multiple times.

With no cars around me and no obstructions while driving 60 mph on the freeway brakes slammed on for no reason. I then took it to the dealer they said nothings wrong. I have now taken it to cerittos Honda numerous times but they say nothings wrong but it happened again today.
Was driving 45mph on a straight, flat road, no other cars around. Brakes slammed on and then released. There was nothing in front of me or behind me. I believe something is wrong with the collision mitigation braking system. My back and neck are very sore. There were no warnings from the system.

Brakes came on hard with cruise control set at 73 mph while driving on interstate in left lane. Nothing was ahead of me in my lane. I was overtaking a vehicle that was in the right lane. The highway was very straight. I believe that there is a problem with the collision avoidance system.
