87 mention an injury, 21 a fire
The powertrain leads the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee record at 26%, with seat close behind. Of the powertrain reports that give a mileage, half came before 11,600 miles. The costliest part on our cost list is the power steering rack, $311 to $911 for the part alone.
It's a count of reports, not a failure rate. Use it to decide what to inspect before buying, not to grade the car.
Two thirds of the powertrain complaints describe shifting, and the seat complaints describe front headrests that pop open on their own.

What owners describe
My jeep stalled in 50mph traffic causing a horribly dangerous situation. I barely coasted to the side of the road, and it wouldn't restart. I had it towed to the dealer where I was later told my tone/reluctor wheel had broken resulting in loss of signal from the crankshaft sensor so the vehicle shut down.
The 2015 I had just purchased with the v-6 and 8 speed transmission due to my 2014 dodge durango with the same engine and transmission being bought back by chrysler, is exhibiting the same unsafe shifting and stalling conditions.

2015 grand cherokee - 6 cyl - transmission propblem- multiple occasions of hard & loud shifting in low gears - stuck in low gear - loss of power - poor mpg - check engine light on indicating trans. Errors - dealer has repaired / patched software 3 times and problems continue...
Transmission jerks between gears 1 2 and 3. Engine revs without delivering power at times of rapid acceleration. Car moves 2 to 3 inches when placed in park, these problems all still persist even after software patches were installed on recall
I was in a driveway and put the car in reverse and accelerated since it was a very slight incline when the car automatically went into auto park. This happened 4 times. I shut the car off, restarted. The shifter worked. I drove to the dealer, they looked at it and said nothing is wrong. Seems like a safety issue to me
At a regular oil change service, it was discovered that there was an engine oil cooler leak for a 2015 jeep grand cherokee with less than 58000 miles on it. No warning indicators were illuminated. Deal requested to have it replaced because it's dangerous drive.
When it starts
Usually starts around 11,567 miles. Half of owners reported it between 4,150 and 41,000.
What to do
Drive through every gear and shift into Park and back a few times.

What owners describe
While simply driving down the road my passenger side headrest just pops open. It seems the clips have broken. This should be a recall as I have spoken to many owners who have had the same issue. This is a safety issue and should be taken care of from the dealership and not cost $800.00 for something that is faulty.
While stopped at a stop light, my head rest deployed. I was stopped and on a city/town road. The temperature was about 85 degrees and humid that day so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it but it happened out of nowhere!

The front seat driver side headrest has protruded forward. I just noticed it yesterday when I drove the jeep home from work. It was parked in our company parking lot all day while I was at work when this happened. Went to schicker automotive group (jeep dealer) in washington missouri. They told me I need a whole new headrest. Total cost, parts and labor. $771.00
Active headrest restraint deployed while driving on the interstate. No rear collision or other accident occurred. Dealership indicates the "tabs" broke off and therefore cannot be reset. Quoted me $816 to replace the headrest. Seems exorbitant. And something that, as a safety component, should be the subject of a recall (voluntary or otherwise) to be fixed.*dt consumer stated vehicle has been repaired.
Active headrest activated by itself with no collision. Inspection revealed a plastic tab is broken. This is known by jeep as a defective piece of equipment. They refused to fix as the car is ~1500miles outside of warranty
I was driving down the road at approximately 35mph on a smooth paved residential street when I heard what sounded like a window shattering. I looked over and saw the passenger seat (unoccupied) headrest had sprung forward and deployed as though the vehicle had been rear-ended.
When it starts
Usually starts around 69,000 miles. Half of owners reported it between 49,180 and 82,500.
What to do
Check that both front headrests stay latched.

When the air conditioning is running there is a noise coming from the air compressor and I don't understand y the car being so new it can have already broke I went to get it checked and they said it would cost $1690 to fix at a jeep dealer that is extremely ridiculous I would say ...
Discovered oil leak in my garage. Dealer checked and discover both radiator leak and power steering leak. No warning indicators were illuminated. Deal requested to have it replaced because it's dangerous drive. Jeep has less than 58500 miles on it.

My wife and I own this car, which is titled to her. Today I took it to a jeep dealer for standard, 60,000 mile maintenance. The dealer discovered that my radiator was leaking. I replaced it at a cost of $1,026.97. The dealer is rochester hills chrysler, jeep and dodge in rochester hills, mi.
My check engine light came on. I brought it to my jeep dealer.they found code p0302 and said the left engine head had to be replaced as well as #2 fuel injector.I had just over 50000 mi. The head was covered under warranty, the fuel injector cost me 415$. Jeep should have covered this cost. Jeep reimbursement department denied me reimbursement.what can be done to recover my cost?
I got a service engine soon light. When I took it to the dealer they said it was purge valve on the evaporator system. I encounter the same problem on my 2014 dodge durango at the same mileage. I think chrysler has a systemic problem with this part of their emission system.
Received a recall 1 month go but the dealer cannot repair-no parts!! Recall w58 "a loss of motive power can result in a vehicle crash without prior warning" now I am frightened to drive to work but no way to get it repaired???

1- surround sound is auto turn to stay on. When turn off no any effects. 2- some noise come in driver side from dash or engine room. This noise like air sound from air pump every 10 to 25 sec with synchronous small some effect in rpm.

The fan for heat and air conditioning suddenly quits working. The fan motor makes a roaring noise. The wipers will only work on high. Our jeep only has 60k. We have already had an oil leak and had to replace the water pump. Also the check engine light is on code says it's an exhaust leak. We are very disappointed in the over all quality.
I have a 2015 gran cherokee while parked in my garage the jeep rolled forward hitting the garage doors , called chysler was told there is a recall but I'm not doing it right ? I asked , what placing the car in park? Or buying a car that is a safety hazard !!!, we should have been warned this car was going to kill someone.!!!!

Vehicle was involved in an accident driving on a highway (speed approx. 45) when another vehicle failed to yield at a stop sign. Front passenger side of vehicle impact with front of other vehicle. Air bags did not deploy and the seat belt did not lock causing the driver's face to hit the steering wheel. Due to the seat belt not locking facial injuries were sustained.

Passenger side headrest safety feature deployed at low speed. I was backing up in front of neighbor home on cul de sac.not involved in any collision or impact. This is on a 2015 jeep grand cherokee
The passenger seat head restraint system activated for no known reason while driving 70 mph on the interstate. The vehicle was not in any accident or no factors caused this. The head rest violently shot forward approx 6" if this would have been the drivers seat it would almost certainly caused the driver to loose control of the jeep

What to do
